A disposable wearing article having a cup-shaped portion adapted for temporary collection of bodily fluids such as urine without irritating the wearers skin. Front waist elastics (18) are attached between a front outer sheet (11) and an inner sheet (13) and rear waist elastics (19) are attached between a rear outer sheet (12) and the inner sheet (13). An absorbent structure (30) is attached to an inner side of the inner sheet (13) and a pair of leg-cuffs (40) is attached between the absorbent structure (30) and the inner sheet (13). Lateral proximal portions of the respective leg cuffs (40) are bonded between the absorbent structure (30) and the inner sheet (13) and lateral distal portions (42) of the respective leg cuffs extend outwardly in a transverse direction (X) beyond the absorbent structure (30) and are not bonded to the inner sheet (13). These lateral distal portions (42) are provided with a plurality of cuff elastics (43). Front and rear waist regions (2, 3) respectively include first through third sub-regions (2a through 2c 3a through 3c) which are adjacent one to another in this order and the respective sub-regions are provided with first through third waist elastics (18a through 18c 19a through 19c). A tensile stress in the first and third sub-regions (2a, 2c) is higher than that in the second sub-region (2b) and the cuff elastics (43) extend to at least the second sub-region (2b).
