The present invention relates to a device (1) for guiding a trailer hitched to a motorized vehicle. The guiding device (1) comprises: - a positioning means (8), - a visual analysis means (10) configured to provide a determined trajectory, and - a control means (14) receiving the trajectory determined by the visual analysis means (10), and configured to control the positioning means (8). The guiding device (1) also comprises a locating means (12), and the control means (14) comprises a storage means (18) configured to store, at least once, the location information corresponding to the trajectory determined by the visual analysis means (10). The control means (14) is configured so as to, in the absence of a determined trajectory, control the positioning means (8) according to said stored trajectory. The present invention also relates to a method of guidance.
