PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spherical titanium dioxide which can be adjusted to have a particle size of 100 nm or more, which has a uniform spherical shape, and which exhibits a sufficient ultraviolet screening effect, and to provide a cosmetic containing the spherical titanium dioxide.SOLUTION: Spherical titanium dioxide precipitate is obtained by diluting a titanium salt solution, adding an acidic solution of hydrochloric acid or the like to the solution, and performing a hydrolysis reaction with a soft solution reaction.
