The present invention relates to a composition comprising a red ginseng extract as an active ingredient for preventing or treating age-related hearing loss or dizziness. According to the present invention, the red ginseng extract: prevents and delaying deterioration of hearing ability and a vestibular (balance) function prevents and delaying damage on hearing cells, fibrocyte on a side cell-wall, and spiral ganglion cells and inhibits overexpression of cytochrome C by over-expressing B-cell lymphoma-extra large (BCL-XL) and thus has an excellent effect of delaying and preventing apoptosis in tissues. Therefore, the red ginseng extract can delay and prevent age-related deterioration of hearing ability. Accordingly, the red ginseng extract can be advantageously used for treating, preventing, and alleviating age-related hearing loss or dizziness.
