PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water dispersion for an aqueous ink, which contains titanium dioxide as a coloring agent and has high dispersion stability and re-dispersibility.SOLUTION: The water dispersion for an aqueous ink comprises dispersion of vinyl polymer particles having low water solubility and containing titanium dioxide, wherein the polymer particles contain a silicone component, and the vinyl polymer is obtained by polymerization a monomer mixture comprising the following unsaturated monomers (A) to (C). These monomers are: (A) at least one of an aromatic vinyl compound, a (meth)acrylic acid ester [CH=CRCOOR], and a macromer having these unsaturated monomers as structural elements and having a polymerizable functional group at one terminal; (B) a (meth)acrylic acid ester [CH=CRCOO(RO)-R]; and (C) an unsaturated monomer having a salt generating group.
