The present invention relates to a composition for preventing, alleviating, or treating acute pancreatitis comprising a Scolopendra subspinpes mutilans extract as an active ingredient, and more specifically, to a composition for preventing, alleviating, or treating acute pancreatitis, which has efficacy of hindering outbreak of acute pancreatitis in pancreatic tissue and acinar cells. According to the present invention, the composition has efficacy of hindering inflammation, edema, vacuolization, necrosis, expression of pro-inflammatory cytokine and pro-inflammatory cytokine mRNA, and MPO infiltration in pancreatic tissue, and decreasing a ratio of pancreas weight/body weight (P.W/B.W). Also, the composition has efficacy of hindering expression of pro-inflammatory cytokine and pro-inflammatory cytokine mRNA, activation of MAPKs path, and expression of a HMGB1 protein in acinar cells, and has no cytotoxicity in acinar cells.
