A method and apparatus for producing a pre-fastened adjustable pant-like disposable absorbent undergarment including a fully severed front body panel is disclosed. The method includes the steps of providing a moving web and first creating a line of weakness on the moving web at a weakening station to define a leading portion of the moving web and a trailing portion of the moving web connected at the line of weakness. The moving web then passes through an attachment assembly station to bridge the connected leading portion and trailing portion together with a fastener assembly that extends over the line of weakness. Finally, the moving web is then passed through a web breaking station to completely separate the leading portion and trailing portion of the moving web at the line of weakness, such that the leading portion and trailing portion remains bridged together by the fastener assembly.Linvention porte sur un procédé et sur un appareil pour produire un sous-vêtement absorbant jetable du type culotte réglable pré-fixé comprenant un panneau de corps avant totalement séparé. Le procédé comprend les étapes consistant à disposer un film mobile et à créer tout dabord une ligne daffaiblissement sur le film mobile dans une station daffaiblissement pour définir une partie avant du film mobile et une partie arrière du film mobile reliées au niveau de la ligne daffaiblissement. Le film mobile traverse ensuite une station densemble dattachement pour ponter la partie avant et la partie arrière reliées lune à lautre à laide dun ensemble de fixation qui sétend sur la ligne daffaiblissement. Finalement, le film mobile est ensuite amené à traverser une station de rupture de film pour séparer complètement la partie avant et la partie arrière du film mobile au niveau de la ligne daffaiblissement, de telle sorte que la partie avant et la partie arrière restent pontées lune à lautre par lensemble de fixation.
