A method and apparatus for producing a pre-fastened adjustable pant-like disposable absorbent undergarment including a fully severed front body panel is disclosed. The method includes the steps of providing a moving web and first creating an altered area on the moving web at an altering station to define a leading portion of the moving web and a trailing portion of the moving web connected at the altered area. The moving web then passes through a fastener attachment station to bridge the connected leading portion and trailing portion together with a fastener assembly that extends over the altered area. Finally, the moving web is then passed through a web breaking station to completely separate the leading portion and trailing portion of the moving web at the altered area, such that the leading portion and trailing portion remained bridged together by the fastener assembly.Linvention concerne un procédé et un appareil permettant de produire un sous-vêtement pré-fixé jetable de type culotte ajustable absorbant comportant un panneau de corps avant entièrement séparé. Le procédé comprend les étapes consistant à utiliser une bande en mouvement et tout dabord à créer une zone modifiée sur la bande en mouvement, au niveau dun poste de modification, afin de définir une partie avant de la bande en mouvement et une partie arrière de la bande en mouvement reliées au niveau de la zone modifiée. La bande en mouvement passe ensuite par un poste de fixation destiné à relier la partie avant et la partie arrière unies à un ensemble de fixation qui sétend sur la zone modifiée. Enfin, la bande en mouvement est ensuite passée dans un poste de rupture de bande afin de séparer complètement la partie avant et la partie arrière de la bande en mouvement au niveau de la zone modifiée, de telle sorte que la partie avant et la partie arrière demeurent reliées lune à lautre par lensemble de fixation.
