It is an object of the present invention to provide a pest control composition capable of exerting a high effect on pests such as spider mites and aphids even at low concentration using a food/food additive with high safety to the human body and the environment. The present inventors have intensively studied to solve the above problem and found that, among polyglycerol fatty acid esters widely used as a food additive, a composition containing a polyglycerol fatty acid ester which has an HLB of 5 or less and is liquid at ordinary temperature and also a nonionic surfactant has a high effect on pests even at low concentration, and that the possibility for pests to develop resistance to the composition is extremely low, and the present invention has been completed.본 발명의 목적은 인체ㆍ환경에 대해서 안정성이 높은 식품ㆍ식품첨가물을 사용하고, 저농도로도 잎진드기류 및 진딧물류 등의 유해생물에 대한 높은 효과를 발현할 수 있는 유해생물 방제 조성물을 제공하는 것이다. 본 발명자들은 상기 과제를 해결하기 위해서 예의연구한 결과, 식품첨가물로서 널리 사용되고 있는 폴리글리세린 지방산 에스테르 중에서도, HLB가 5 이하이며, 또한 상온에서 액체인 폴리글리세린 지방산 에스테르와 함께, 비이온 계면활성제를 함유하는 조성물이 유해생물에 대해서 저농도로도 높은 효과가 있고, 유해생물이 그것들의 조성물에 대한 저항성을 발달킬 가능성이 매우 낮은 것임을 발견하고 본 발명을 완성했다.
