Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein kompatibles Solut oder Solutgemisch sowie eine Zusammensetzung enthaltend mindestens ein Solut oder ein Solutgemisch zur Verwendung bei der Prävention oder Behandlung von mit mindestens einer biobasierten Noxe assoziierter Barrieredefekte von Epithelgeweben, insbesondere von Krankheiten umfassend mindestens einen Barrieredefekt in mindestens einer Zelllage von mindestens einem Epithelgewebe, wobei mindestens ein Solut ausgewählt wird aus Verbindungen der Formel I, der Formel II, den physiologisch verträglichen Salzen der Formel I und Formel II, den stereoisomeren Formen der Verbindungender Formel I, Formel II und der physiologisch verträglichen Salze der stereoisomeren Formen oder einem Gemisch aus mindestens zwei der vorgenannten Verbindungen.
