PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent sandy touch or the like and unintentional deviation of absorbing characteristic in the case of using tow (a fiber bundle).
SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing an absorbing body includes: a polymer applying process of applying high absorptive polymer to the outer surface of a fiber aggregate 10 formed of tow made of fibers and a polymer migration process of passing gas through the fiber aggregate 10 to which high absorptive polymer is applied to migrate the high absorptive polymer into the fiber aggregate 10 by the passing force of gas, wherein before the polymer migration process, the surface of the fiber aggregate 10 to which the high absorptive polymer has been applied is covered with a sheet 13, and in the polymer migration process, suction is performed from the surface on the opposite side to the surface covered with the sheet 13 in the fiber aggregate 10 to thereby migrate the high absorptive polymer into the fiber aggregate 10.
