An absorbent article (1) has a surface sheet (10), a rear surface sheet (20), and an absorption body (30) positioned between the surface sheet and the rear surface sheet. The absorption body is provided with a colored layer (31) containing a colorant, and an absorption layer (32) positioned closer to the surface sheet than the colored layer. Compression sections (80) where the surface sheet, absorption layer and colored layer are compressed from the surface sheet side to the rear surface sheet side, are formed on the absorption body. The colored layer is formed by laminating colored fibers. The absorption layer is formed by laminating fibers using the airlaid process, and does not contain a binder for binding said fibers.
