PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve characteristics of a radiation image detection device.SOLUTION: A radiation image detection device 1 includes: a fluorescent body 18 containing a fluorescent substance for emitting fluorescent rays of light by radiation exposure and a sensor panel 3 for detecting the fluorescent rays of light emitted by the fluorescent body 18, and for converting the fluorescent rays of light into an electric signal. The fluorescent body is formed on the sensor panel, and includes a columnar part 34 formed of the group of columnar crystal configured such that the crystal of the fluorescent substance is grown in a columnar manner, and a non-columnar part 36.
