A patient-side cart for a teleoperated surgical system can include a base, a column connected to the base, a boom connected to the column, a manipulator arm connected to the boom, and a vibration isolation member. The manipulator arm can be configured to support a surgical instrument. The anti-vibration member can be configured to move between a deployed position and a retracted position relative to the base. The vibration isolating member is engaged with the ground at the deployed position and does not have to be in contact with the ground at the retracted position.
