The invention concerns an apparatus intended to be positioned inside a mouth of a patient, apparatus comprising an intra-oral device comprising a suction tube (10) extending in a longitudinal direction and having, on a side wall of the suction tube, at least one suction hole (11), the suction tube being intended to be connected to a suction apparatus. The wall of the suction tube is extended by a plate (20) that extends in the longitudinal direction and has, in a transverse plane, a section of concave shape capable of moving the tongue away from the suction tube. The apparatus according to the invention is characterised in that the intra-oral device is made from a light-absorbing material, for example black material. Lappareil selon linvention est caractérisé en ce que le dispositif intra-buccal est réalisé en un matériau absorbant la lumière, par example en matériau noir. Un contraste est ainsi créé avec la dentition du patient, ce qui facilite la prise dempreinte optique.
