A device and method for recovering (1) the aqueous substance (2) from a tree to be carried out in a closed vessel, via a container applied in front of a notch (4) previously cut in the bark (5) of the tree (6) to the cambium (9), consisting of a rigid jar (3) closed by a cover (12) hermetically linked to a conduit (13), at the end of which a collecting head (14) is arranged and applied to the bottom of a circular hole (4), of substantially matching dimensions, previously made in the tree (6) to the cambium (9), characterised in that the collecting head (14) comprises, on the top outer portion of same, near to the top edge of same, a plurality of studs (15), standing out radially and intended to be anchored to the mounting on the upper inner lateral part (4a) of the hole (4), near the bottom (4b) of same (4), in order to hold the whole of the device (1) in place, and in that it is made from an elastically deformable plastic material and is ellipsoidal in shape.
