PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning reel for fishing in which a spool shaft is smoothly reciprocated in the longitudinal direction in the handle rotating operation.SOLUTION: A spinning reel for fishing includes: a pinion gear 8 engaged to a drive gear 7 rotationally driven by the rotating operation of a handle 5, and with a rotor 2 fixed to the tip a spool spindle 3a attached with a spool where a fishing line is wound at the front end side, and inserted to the pinion gear 8 and an oscillating mechanism 12 for supporting the rear end side of the spool spindle, and reciprocating and driving the spool spindle in the longitudinal direction with the drive of the drive gear. The spool spindle 3a is supported at two points of an inner surface of the front end side of the pinion gear and a sliding body 15 of the oscillating mechanism.
