Said semiconductor base is made of a polycrystalline film of a solid solution of the composition (CdTe)(CdS), applied to a non-conductive substrate. Claimed sensor, with a significant simplification of the technology of its production, allows to determine the content of carbon monoxide and has the sensitivity that is several times higher than that of existing sensors. Technical result of the invention is to increase the sensitivity and manufacturability of the sensor.
