The present disclosure relates to a seed coating composition comprising at least one plant growth promoting rhizobacteria in a population of about 107 to about 109 colony forming units per gram of the total mass of the composition； at least one inert compound in an amount ranging from 30% to 50% of the total mass of the composition； and at least one binder in an amount ranging from 8% to 12% of the total mass of the composition. The present disclosure also relates to a process for the preparation of the seed coating composition.
