The present invention relates to a white fruit extract of Hylocereus Undatus that emits blue fluorescence when exposed to light sources including UV light (eg sunlight) and its use as a fluorescent colorant in cosmetic applications. When applied to the skin, the extract reduces the perception of skin defects. Cosmetic applications include all skin products where a natural, uniform and clean skin appearance is desired.
