Abstract: A water absorbent support for moist heat sterilization which can be used in a narrow space and does not cause foreign matters, a method for producing the same, a medical article and a moist heat sterilization method are provided. Absorbent carrier in which a water-absorbing substance (any one of silica gel, zeolite, polyacrylic acid) is embedded with a synthetic resin. It can be formed into granular or sheet form. It can be manufactured by impregnating a water-absorbing substance with a water-soluble substance, then drying, embedding it in a thermoplastic synthetic resin, and washing it to remove the water-soluble substance. Or dispersing a water-insoluble synthetic resin in a dispersion medium, mixing a water-absorbing substance, pouring it into a mold, and volatilizing the dispersion medium. A medical product can be provided by packaging a water-absorbent carrier in a closed space to be sterilized. In particular, a water-absorbing carrier carrying water is placed in a region where water vapor hardly reaches. The water absorbent carrier is placed in a closed space to be sterilized and subjected to moist heat sterilization. High pressure steam sterilization can be performed at a temperature at which the wet heat temperature exceeds 100 C.狭い空間においても利用可能であり、異物を発生させる虞のない湿熱滅菌用の吸水性担持体、その製造方法、医療用品および湿熱滅菌方法を提供する。 吸水性物質(シリカゲル、ゼオライト、ポリアクリル酸のうちのいずれか一つ)を合成樹脂で埋設してなる吸水性担持体である。粒状またはシート状に成形することができる。吸水性物質に水溶性物質を含浸し、その後乾燥し、熱可塑性合成樹脂に埋設し、洗浄して水溶性物質を除去して製造できる。または非水溶性合成樹脂を分散媒に分散させ、吸水性物質を混合し、型に流し込んで分散媒を揮発させて製造できる。滅菌されるべき閉鎖空間に吸水性担持体を有して包装して医療用品を提供できる。特に、水を担持させた吸水性担持体を水蒸気が届きにくい領域に配置する。吸水性担持体を滅菌されるべき閉鎖空間に配置して湿熱滅菌を行う。湿熱温度が100℃を超える温度で高圧蒸気滅菌とすることができる。
