Provided is a purified green tea extract and which contains catechins at high concentration and is reduced in unpleasant astringent taste. The purified green tea extract according to the present invention contains (A) non-polymer catechins and (B) rutin. A content weight ratio [(b)/(a)] of the rutin (B) to the non-polymer catechins (A) is not greater than 0.03, and a ratio of gallate forms in the non-polymer catechins (A) is from 0.01 to 70 wt %.
