Dialkyl amidoamines are described which are reaction products of polyamines, monocarboxylic acids, or triglycerides or derivatives thereof, and optionally epoxide-containing compounds. Dialkyl amidoamines can be used as conditioning or anti-freeze agents useful for personal care applications, in particular for conditioning hair.
