PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article having a favorable handleability when putting and taking it on/off, sufficiently exerting the absorption performance of absorbent polymer without obstructing the swelling of the absorbent polymer by absorption of excreted liquid, and being highly efficiently biodegraded when disposing of it by burying in the soil or the like after use.
SOLUTION: This absorbent article 1 includes at least a single inner bag-like member 11, the absorbent polymer, and an outer bag-like member 13. The inner bag-like member 11 is formed into a thin and substantially sheet-like form of a sheet having biodegradability and liquid permeability, and includes a plurality of storage spaces closed to the outer and divided mutually. The absorbent polymer includes the biodegradability and a substantially granular or powdery form and is encased in each of the storage spaces of the inner bag-like member 11 freely movably within the storage spaces. The outer bag-like member 13 is formed of a sheet having the biodegradability and liquid permeability and contains the inner bag-like member 11 in either a layered or folded state.
