The invention relates to an aqueous composition for cosmetic or pharmaceutical use, in particular dermatogical use, to be applied on skin, comprising more than 20% by weight of alkali metal bicarbonate wherein the alkali metal bicarbonate is present in dissolved form and in particles form and the particles have a particle size distribution such that at least 50% by weight of the particles have a diameter of less than 100 μm for calming skin discomfort. The invention also relates to a method for improving the surface appearance of the skin and/or for calming the skin and in particular for reducing skin discomfort.La présente invention concerne une composition aqueuse pour utilisation cosmétique ou pharmaceutique, en particulier une utilisation dermatologique, à appliquer sur la peau, comprenant plus de 20 % en poids de bicarbonate de métal alcalin, le bicarbonate de métal alcalin étant présent sous forme dissoute et sous forme de particules et les particules ayant une distribution de taille de particule telle qu'au moins 50 % en poids des particules ont un diamètre inférieur à 100 µm pour calmer la gêne cutanée. La présente invention concerne en outre un procédé pour améliorer l'aspect de surface de la peau et/ou pour calmer la peau et en particulier pour réduire la gêne cutanée.
