PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide litter sand that is arranged on the upper side of a pet litter box of a double structure, has water repellency, a water-absorbing property and moderate elasticity and is disposable as a combustible waste.SOLUTION: A polypropylene film and pulp fibers are simultaneously crushed into a size of 5-8 mm and the crushed material is mixed with a deodorant to give a raw material. The component ratio of the mixture of the crushed polypropylene films: the crushed pulp fibers: the deodorant is 50:50:2 (pts.wt.). The mixture is fed to a vertical pressing granulator, pressured and discharged from a molding opening having a screen diameter of 6 mm. The appearance of the rod-like discharged material is observed and the surface temperature of the material is measured. The surface of the discharged material has cracks not to grow in such a degree as not to retain the shape thereof. The surface temperature thereof is in a range of 60-70°C. The discharged material pushed out from the molding opening is cut into an appropriate length to give pellets for litter sand for pet.COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT【課題】二重構造のペット用トイレの上部側に配するトイレ砂であって、撥水性、吸水性及び適度な弾力性を有し、燃えるゴミとして廃棄可能であること。【解決手段】ポリプロピレンフィルム及びパルプ繊維を5~8mmに同時に解砕し、この解砕物に消臭剤を加えて原料とした。この混合物の成分割合は、ポリプロピレンフィルム解砕物:パルプ繊維解砕物:消臭剤=50:50:2(重量部)とした。この混合物を縦押し型造粒機に供給し、圧力を掛けてスクリーンの口径6mmの成形口から吐出させた。棒状の吐出物の外観を観察し、かつその表面温度を測定した。吐出物の表面には、その形体を保持できない程にはならない程度のひび割れを有し、更にその表面温度は60~70℃の範囲となっていた。成形口から押し出される吐出物は、適当な長さに切断し、ペット用トイレ砂用のペレットとした。【選択図】 なし
