When the stalk(13) is approached, said stalk (13) is positioned within anopening between two rotating parts (3). The stalk is graspedby means of rotation and the stalk is moved in respect of thearm so that the cutting point of the stalk is manipulatedto-wards the arm. The stalk (13) is subsequently cut throughand the leaf is disposed of.
