Provided herein are novel benzenesulfonamide compounds having the structure of formula (I): and methods for synthesizing them, their use in pharmaceutical compositions used in human or veterinary medicine, and further their use. Also provided herein are methods of using the disclosed pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of neuroinflammatory skin diseases such as acne. In particular, the pharmaceutical compositions provided herein are effective in treating inflammatory skin diseases such as acne, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis and psoriatic arthritis.
