PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently prepare an aqueous solution of low-molecular weight sericin which has high transparency and uniformity.SOLUTION: An aqueous solution of high-molecular weight sericin having 50,000 or higher weight-average molecular weight is solubilized with an anionic surfactant and the sericin is hydrolyzed with a proteolytic enzyme, while maintaining the pH of the solubilized aqueous solution of the high-molecular weight sericin at 7-11, to prepare an aqueous solution of the low-molecular weight sericin having smaller than 50,000, preferably 10,000 or smaller for weight-average molecular weight. When a cysteine protease is used as the proteolytic enzyme, the sericin is hydrolyzed in the presence of a reducing agent, such as cysteine hydrochloride.COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT【課題】高い透明性、均一性を有する低分子量セリシン水溶液を効率よく調製する。【解決手段】重量平均分子量5万以上の高分子量セリシン水溶液をアニオン界面活性剤を用いて可溶化し、可溶化した高分子量セリシン水溶液に対し、pHを7~11に維持しながら、タンパク質分解酵素によりセリシンを加水分解させて、重量平均分子量5万未満、好ましくは1万以下の低分子量セリシン水溶液を調製する。タンパク質分解酵素としてシステインプロテアーゼを用いる場合には、システイン塩酸塩などの還元剤の存在下で、セリシンを加水分解させる。【選択図】なし
