An absorbent feminine care product comprising: a substantially liquid impermeable layer； a liquid permeable layer； an absorbent layer located between a substantially liquid impermeable layer and a liquid permeable layer； an antimicrobial composition disposed on a liquid permeable a layer wherein the antimicrobial composition comprises an acidic compound； a sensor containing a pH sensitive composition, where the sensor is integrated into the product and positioned so that the pH sensitive composition is hydraulically connected to the physiological fluid of the product user, where the pH sensitive composition contains a chromogen that undergoes a visible change color upon contact with physiological fluid, with a visible color change occurring at a pH of from about 3 to about 9.2. The absorbent feminine care product of claim 1, wherein the acidic compound is a weak organic carboxylic acid. The feminine absorbent article of claim 1, wherein the acidic compound is an aliphatic carboxylic acid having a first dissociation constant of from about 0.5 to about 6.4. The absorbent feminine care product of claim 1, wherein the visible color change occurs at a pH of from about 4 to about 8.5. The absorbent feminine care product according to claim 1, wherein the chromogen is phthalein, anthraquinone, aromatic azo compound, arylmethane, or a combination thereof.
