A surgical stapling instrument includes a body portion and a tool assemblyextendingfrom the body portion. The tool assembly includes a jaw member, and a firstconnectorassembly disposed within the jaw member. The first connector assembly includesa firstconnector housing and first and second connector members extending from thefirstconnector housing. The surgical stapling instrument further includes acartridge assemblyselective receivable within the jaw member. The cartridge assembly includes asecondconnector assembly configured for electrical connection with the firstconnector assembly.The second connector assembly includes a second connector housing and firstand secondcontact members disposed within the second connector housing. The first andsecondconnector members of the first connector assembly are configured to engage therespectivefirst and second contact members of the second connector housing when thecartridgeassembly is received within the jaw member of the tool assembly.
