An extract of Asplenium nidus L. for manufacturing a drug or healthy product to treat of prostate diseases is disclosed. The extract of Asplenium nidus L. comprises pyropheophorbide a methyl ester (C34H36N4O3), pheophorbide a methyl ester (C35H36N4O5), 1-linleoyl-3-linolenoyl-glycerol (C39H66O5), 1-linleoyl-2,3-dipalmitoyl-rac-glycerol (C53H98O6) and 1,3-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycerol (C35H68O5). The extract of Asplenium nidus L. is obtained by using a manufacture method comprising steps of: solvent extracting, using an extract solvent to extract an Asplenium nidus L. sample and to obtain an extract, with a w/v ratio between the extract solvent and the Asplenium nidus L. sample being 50-60mg/ml； and column chromatography, fractionating the extract with water and ethanol as eluent to obtain several fractions including fraction a to fraction i, and further evaporating and lyophilizing fraction b, c, d, or their combination to obtain an extract of Asplenium nidus L.一種山蘇萃取物，係供製備改善攝護腺疾病之藥物或保健食品，包含焦脫鎂葉綠酸-a甲酯、脫鎂葉綠酸-a甲酯、1-亞麻油酸-3-亞麻酸-甘油酯、1-亞麻酸-2,3-雙棕梠酸-甘油酯，以及1,3-雙棕梠酸-甘油酯。該山蘇萃取物藉由一包含下列步驟之方法所製得：一溶劑萃取步驟，係使用一萃取溶劑，對一山蘇樣品進行萃取處理，使該山蘇樣品與該萃取溶劑之重量體積比(w/v,g/ml)為50至60 mg/ml，並回收得一萃取物；以及一管柱層析步驟，利用水和乙醇作為流動相，進行該萃取物之層析分離處理，以獲得數個區分物，沖提先後而編號為區段a至區段i，擷選該區段b、c、d或其組合物經減壓濃縮及冷凍乾燥後，即得該山蘇萃取物。
