The present invention relates to the technical field of light emitters. Disclosed are a light emitter and a plant growth modulation method using same. The invention can address an inability of a light source in the prior art in completely simulating natural lighting. The light emitter comprises a driver module connected to a light source and a light modulating control module. The light modulating control module sends a control signal to the driver module. The driver module then adjusts the brightness of the light source on the basis of the control signal. The driver module further modulates the brightness of the light source on the basis of the control signal, thereby automatically switching the light source on or off at a specified time. A natural luminance transition process can be added when switching the light source on or off to simulate a natural dawn and dusk. The lighting can completely simulate natural sunlight when illuminating a plant.
