Erfindungsgemäß wurde gefunden, dass bei Kultivierung von Zellen des Taxons Labyrinthulomycetes bei hohem Sulfat-Gehalt eine Biomasse mit hohem Exopolysaccharid (EPS)-Gehalt erhalten werden kann, die sich zudem in vorteilhafter Weise zu einem Futtermittel weiterverarbeiten lässt.According to the invention, it was found that culturing of PUFA-producing cells in a content of sulphate makes it possible to obtain a biomass having high cell stability and thus PUFAs protected against oxidation in a sustained manner, which biomass can in addition be advantageously further processed into a feedstuff.Selon l'invention, on a découvert qu'il est possible d'obtenir, lors de la culture de cellules du taxon Labyrinthulomycetes à haute teneur en sulfates, une biomasse à haute teneur en exopolysaccharide (EPS), ladite biomasse pouvant de surcroît être avantageusement transformée en aliment pour animaux.
