PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat generator capable of providing the feeling of warmth and the feeling of coolness at the same time without reducing the temperature of the skin of a user.SOLUTION: A heat generator 1 includes a housing body 22 accommodating a heating part 21 containing oxidizable metal, a reaction accelerator, electrolyte and water. The heating part 21 contains a cold sensing agent for providing the feeling of coolness to a skin and a dissolving agent for dissolving it. The cold sensing agent is preferably composed of l-menthol or dl-menthol, or a derivative thereof.
