A cage system (15) comprising: - at least one cage (16) that is suitable to accommodate one or more experimental animals, - at least one cage space each comprising the air enclosed in at least one cage ( 16), - a surrounding space (19) outside the at least one cage space, and - a climate control unit (18) that is adapted to provide a climate in the at least one cage space that is different from that of the space surrounding (19), - an air inlet for the air flow in the cage system (15), and - an air outlet for the air flow out of the cage system (15), characterized in that the unit of Climate control (18) comprises a vaporizer (1) for the generation of a steam flow to be fed into a gas stream, the vaporizer (1) comprising: - a boiler unit (2) for increasing the temperature of a liquid above its boiling point, comprising the boiler unit (2): or a c vaporization chamber (4) in which the steam is generated, and a heating element (6) to raise the temperature of the vaporization chamber (4), - a liquid supply tube (3) to supply a liquid that it will be transformed into steam in the vaporization chamber (4), and - a steam outlet tube (5) to drive the steam generated out of the vaporization chamber (4), into the gas stream to which it is going to to be added, - vaporizer (1) in which a surface tension rupture device (8) having an open structure is provided at one end (9) of the liquid supply tube (3), end (9) that rests or is projected into the vaporization chamber (4) so that the liquid passes through the surface tension breakage device (8) when it flows from the liquid supply tube (3) and into the vaporization chamber (4 ), and - vaporizer (1) in which the surface tension breakage device (8) has e a surface area that is significantly larger than a cross section of an opening in the liquid supply tube (3) in a region where the liquid enters the vaporization chamber (4), so that the liquid can supplied to the vaporization chamber (4) without a significant formation of drops
