FIELD: agriculture.SUBSTANCE: invention refers to agriculture, namely to veterinary gynecology. Disclosed is a preparation for preventing and treating mastitis in cows in the form of a vegetable extract of raw material from larch barrel processing wastes in a water-dispersed state. Ratio of components in the extract is as follows: raw material from waste processing larch trunks 18–22 wt%, water – balance. Raw material contains bark, wood, bast and branches with larch needles at the following ratio: bark 18–22 wt%, wood 38–42 wt%, bast 8–12 wt%, branches with needles – the rest. Also disclosed is a method for preparing a preparation for preventing and treating mastitis in cows by extraction. Method involves raw material milling, pouring with distilled water and vibration treatment with frequency vibrations. Note here that said grinding is performed up to 1–2 mm. Vibratory treatment is carried out using oscillations in the infrasound frequency range. Duration of vibration treatment makes 15–16 days.
