PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for collecting a maximum number of appropriate drug products in a minimum time from blood components collected from a donor.SOLUTION: There is provided a system for collecting a maximum amount of platelets for a selected blood separation procedure without collecting excess platelets above those required for a selected platelet product, whether the product is one unit of platelets, two units of platelets (a double platelet), or more units of platelets.
