There is provided a system comprising a device (10) for neural stimulation of a patient's cochlea (200), means (14, 19, 24; 21) for in-situ measuring a response of the patient (17) to the neural stimulation of the cochlea, and a programming unit (13) for adjusting the stimulation device; the stimulation device comprising a stimulation signal unit (48, 54) for generating a stimulation signal for each stimulation channel, the stimulation signal consisting of pulses having a shape determined by a shape parameter set including at least one shape parameter; a cochlear implant stimulation arrangement (12, 14, 19) comprising a plurality of stimulation channels for stimulating the cochlea according to the stimulation signal; the measuring means being adapted to provide patient-specific response data concerning the stimulation response to the programming unit, the programming unit being adapted to control the stimulation signal unit by subsequently supplying a plurality of different test shape parameter sets to the stimulation signal unit for causing the stimulation signal unit to generate corresponding test pulses, the programming unit comprising means for evaluating each test shape parameter set according to the respective stimulation response data supplied by the measuring means and according to the power consumption of the pulse generated according to the respective test shape parameter set and for determining an optimal test shape parameter set having the lowest power consumption per pulse for a given stimulation response to a pulse generated according to that test shape parameter set, and the programming unit further being adapted to program the stimulation device based on that optimal test shape parameter set.La présente invention concerne un système comprenant un dispositif (10) pour la stimulation neuronale de la cochlée d'un patient (200), des moyens (14, 19, 24 ; 21) de mesure in situ d'une réponse du patient (17) à la stimulation neuronale de la cochlée, et une u
