PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress clogging of head formation vegetable while improving yield of a head formation portion.SOLUTION: A harvesting work device comprises: a holding/transport device comprising a rhizome transport part for holding and transporting a rhizome part to a rear side, and a head formation transport part for holding and transporting the head formation part to a rear side； and a cutting unit 50 for cutting a rhizome of cabbage which is transported by the holding/transport device.
