The invention relates to a portable hemofiltration device that comprises a hemofilter (1), the outer plastic shell of which is provided with multiple slits (2) such as to enable the fibers (3) contained inside the shell to contact the surrounding environment. Said hemofilter (1) is surrounded by a flexible, sealed plastic casing (4) that is attached to the periphery of the two ends of the shell. Two surfaces of said plastic casing are attached, by an adhesive or any other glueing method (5), onto two rigid rectangular plates (6) indented in the middle and parallel to each other. Four springs (7) are mounted between the four corners of two plates. Medical plastic tubes are connected to both ends of the hemofilter. After assembly, a vacuum is created inside the hemofilter and the plastic casing by means of suction, and the springs are extended. The blood of the patient, collected from a central vein, passes through the hemofilter such as to come back, via the second tube, to the second arm of the catheter.
