PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motion assist apparatus, even when a detection result of a knee joint angle sensor includes a variation due to chattering phenomenon, capable of safely starting or terminating an assist of motion of the knee joint or the like.SOLUTION: In an assist of bending motion of the knee joint, the motion assist apparatus starts an assist when knee joint angle data θk become a first on threshold THon1 on the basis of the first on threshold THon1 corresponding to a start of the assist of the motion and a first off threshold THoff1 corresponding to termination of the assist, and when the knee joint angle data become the first off threshold THoff1, terminates the assist.
