PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the size of the anterior eye part smoothly using optical interference.
SOLUTION: An eye size measuring apparatus has a measurement section that radiates low coherent light toward the anterior eye part of a subjects eye and measures the size of the anterior eye part by receiving light reflected from the anterior eye part of the subjects eye as interference light. After the subjects eye and the measurement section are aligned in a predetermined positional relationship, a vision guiding means presents a fixed visual target in order to align a measurement optical axis with the optical axis of the subjects eye. The apparatus then drive controls the measurement section in response to dislocation of alignment due to the presentation of the fixed visual target so as to align the measurement section and the subjects eye in the predetermined positional relationship again.
