PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing material for annelids for fishing bait capable of separately packing the annelids for fishing bait to increase yield of active annelids until the annelids are sold, and methods for breeding, transporting and handling the annelids for fishing bait by using the same.

SOLUTION: The packing material 1 for annelids for fishing bait includes a tube-like member 2 having a length capable of holding one annelid 9 for fishing bait in an almost linear state without folding the same. On one of open end 3 of the same, a contact unit 5 brought to contact a part of the inner surface of a tube wall onto an almost central shaft of the tube-like member 2 is made and a through-hole 6 divided by the contact unit 5 is formed. Similar contact units and through-holes may be formed on both ends of the tube-like member. The packing material for annelid for fishing bait can be made to be composed of a similar tube-like member body and a cap member in which a similar contact unit and a through-hole are formed.
