The Ecklonia cava extract or phloroglucinol suppresses or prevents nerve cell injury caused by 6 -hydroxydopamine(6-OHDA).COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013본 발명은 파킨슨 질환의 예방 또는 치료 효과를 나타내는 감태(Ecklonia cava)의 신규한 용도에 관한 것으로, 구체적으로 본 발명은 감태 추출물 또는 이로부터 분리한 플로로글루시놀 화합물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 파킨슨 질환의 예방 또는 치료용 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 감태 추출물 또는 이로부터 분리한 플로로글루시놀은 6-히드록시도파민(6-OHDA)에 의해 유발되는 신경세포 사멸 효과를 효과적으로 억제하며, 활성산소종(ROS)의 생성을 억제하고, 항산화 효소(CAT, GSH-Px 등)들의 활성을 회복시키며, 세포 내 DNA 손상, 지질 과산화 및 단백질 변형을 억제하는 효과를 나타낸다. 따라서 본 발명은 6-히드록시도파민(6-OHDA)에 의해 유발되는 신경세포 손상을 억제함으로써 파킨슨 질환을 효과적으로 예방 또는 치료할 수 있다.
