PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining the posture of a user, and a method for measuring an activity amount, using a smartphone.SOLUTION: A posture discrimination method includes: a step for measuring inclination and acceleration of a smartphone every predetermined time using a gyro sensor and an acceleration sensor equipped to the smartphone and a step for determining which posture of walking, standing, or sitting a user is taking, or that determination is impossible, based on the inclination and the acceleration measured every time the measurement is carried out a predetermined number of times.
