PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mist separator which dispenses with a waterproof structure by irradiating water with light to heat and evaporate the water thereby generating mist, efficiently forms water into mist and can be made compact.SOLUTION: The mist generator 1A includes: a light source 13 a water supply part 12 which has an irradiation surface 12a irradiated with the light from the light source 13 and which supplies the water to the irradiation surface 12a and a water storage tank 11 for replenishing the water to the water supply part 12.
