PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator in which thawing or the like of a cooled object such as food is performed by using ultrasonic waves, ultrasonic waves are uniformly propagated to the cooled object, and cost reduction and space-saving can be achieved.SOLUTION: A refrigerator includes a storage chamber 6 where an object to be cooled is placed, a cooler 3 which cools the storage chamber 6, an ultrasonic wave generator which is provided in the storage chamber 6 and has an ultrasonic wave element 13 and a diaphragm 12, and a plate-like propagation section 15 which is installed in an upper portion of the diaphragm 12 and of which the upper surface has ruggedness.
