PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fine powder removal method in which a fine powder that is stuck a fine powder blow arrangement can be simply removed from the arrangement.SOLUTION: A particulate matter collection instrument 31 includes: a hollow tube 32; two collection instrument connections 33, 34 that are disposed to both ends of the hollow tube 32. The particulate matter collection instrument 31 is used, and a first collection instrument connection 33 from the two collection instrument connections 33, 34 is closed, and a second collection instrument connection 34 is disposed at a particulate matter inlet side of a lance and is connected to a closed on-off valve. The on-off valve is opened, thereby the particulate matter that is stuck inside of the lance is sent to the hollow tube 32 from a blast furnace with a gas that has a higher pressure than an inner pressure of the hollow tube 32. The particulate matter that is stuck in the lance is removed from the lance.
