The present invention relates to an X-ray imaging apparatus and a method for controlling the same, and more particularly, to an X-ray imaging apparatus and a method for controlling the same, in which a mobile X-ray imaging apparatus emits light from a plurality of light-emitting units set according to pre-stored source image distance (SID) information, so that a user is capable of intuitively recognizing whether the X-ray imaging apparatus is located in an appropriate imaging distance from an object through superimposition of the emitted light. According to on embodiment, the X-ray imaging apparatus includes: an X-ray source； an input unit for receiving distance information between the X-ray source and an X-ray detector； a reference light-emitting unit for emitting light from the X-ray source in a direction where the X-ray detector is located； at least one auxiliary light-emitting unit spaced apart from the reference light-emitting unit by a predetermined distance for emitting light, such that the light overlaps with the light emitted from the reference light-emitting unit； and a control unit for determining an auxiliary light-emitting unit corresponding to the received distance information among the at least one auxiliary light-emitting unit when the distance information is received, and controlling the reference light-emitting unit and the determined auxiliary light-emitting unit to emit the light.엑스선 영상 장치 및 그 제어방법에 대한 발명으로, 이동형 엑스선 영상 장치에 있어서, 미리 저장된 SID(source ?? image distance) 정보에 따라 설정되어 있는 복수의 발광부로부터 광이 조사되어, 조사된 광의 중첩을 통해 엑스선 영상 장치가 대상체와 적당한 촬영 거리에 위치하는지 여부를 사용자가 직관적으로 알 수 있는 것을 목적으로 하는 엑스선 영상 장치 및 그 제어방법에 관한 기술이다.일 실시예에 따른 엑스선 영상 장치는, 엑스선 소스, 엑스선 소스와 엑스선 디텍터 사이의 거리 정보를 입력 받는 입력부, 엑스선 소스로부터 디텍터가 위치하는 방향으로 광을 조사하는 기준 발광부, 기준 발광부로부터 미리 정해진 거리만큼 이격되어 마련되고, 기준 발광부로부터 조사된 광과 미리 정해진 거리에서 중첩되도록 광을 조사하는 적어도 하나의 보조 발광부, 및 거리 정보가 입력되면 적어도 하나의 보조 발광부 중에서 입력 받은 거리 정보에 대응하는 보조 발광부를 결정하고, 기준 발광부 및 결정된 보조 발광부가 광을 조사하도록 제어하는 제어부를 포함한다.
